Objective:

End Project Evaluation Report for Promoting Education and Protection (Pep) For Afghan Refugees in Urban Quetta

About Project
Mercy Corps implemented the Promote Education and Protection (PEP) project in Quetta, Balochistan, to address the challenges faced by Afghan refugees in accessing quality education. The project worked with both Afghan and Pakistani schools to provide accelerated learning classes, community learning centers, and re-enrollment programs for out-of-school Afghan refugee children. Additionally, the project focused on improving protection, leadership, and life skills through sport-based activities and awareness campaigns. The project aimed to increase school enrollment rates, improve educational outcomes, and enhance the overall well-being of Afghan refugees in the region.
The project faced significant challenges due to high rates of out-of-school children and limited educational opportunities. However, through its interventions, Mercy Corps was able to make a positive impact on the lives of many Afghan refugees. By providing access to education and supporting their development, the project helped to improve the prospects of these vulnerable individuals and contribute to their successful integration into Pakistani society.
